As a physician, treating overweight and obesity is deeply personal to me. Watching my mother struggle with her weight and ultimately losing her to a stroke at a young age shaped my understanding of how profoundly excess weight can affect health, quality of life, and the people we love. That experience continues to drive my passion for helping others achieve healthier, longer lives.
Weight management is about much more than a number on a scale. Obesity is associated with numerous chronic conditions, including diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and fatty liver disease. It can also impact confidence, mobility, mental well-being, and overall quality of life. My goal is to help patients address these challenges through a personalized, sustainable approach to weight loss.
I believe successful weight management starts with understanding the individual. There is no one-size-fits-all solution. Every patient comes with unique medical conditions, life circumstances, cultural traditions, food preferences, and personal goals. Rather than relying on restrictive diets or temporary fixes, I work with patients to develop realistic strategies that fit their lives and can be maintained long-term.
My approach combines evidence-based medicine, nutritional education, lifestyle coaching, and, when appropriate, weight loss medications or hormone therapy. Most importantly, I believe in partnering with patients throughout their journey, providing the guidance, accountability, and support needed to create lasting change.
Helping patients improve their health, prevent disease, and build a better relationship with food is one of the most rewarding parts of being a physician, and I am honored to be a part of that journey.
