Growing up in Los Angeles, I witnessed firsthand how obesity affected multiple generations of my family. I saw loved ones struggle with the physical limitations, chronic diseases, and reduced quality of life that often accompany excess weight. Those experiences inspired my passion for helping patients address what I believe is one of the most significant health challenges facing our country today: obesity.
As a family physician, I understand that successful weight loss is about much more than willpower. Every patient has a unique story, with different medical conditions, life experiences, challenges, and goals. There is no single solution that works for everyone. My role is to help patients identify the tools and strategies that fit their individual needs and create a realistic path toward long-term success.
I believe in a comprehensive approach to weight management that combines evidence-based medicine, nutritional education, lifestyle modification, and, when appropriate, weight loss medications or hormone therapy. My goal is not simply to help patients lose weight, but to help them improve their overall health, prevent future disease, and build habits they can maintain for life.
My experience in outpatient medicine, hospital medicine, medical education, and preventive care has given me a deep appreciation for the impact that excess weight can have on nearly every aspect of health. Helping patients take control of their health and achieve lasting change is one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
As a United States Marine Corps veteran, I have a special appreciation for the sacrifices made by our service members and veterans. We are proud to welcome veterans and active-duty military members into our practice and offer a military discount on our subscription plans as a small thank-you for their service to our country.
